When I make knives, I use high quality stainless and powder steel N690, Elmax, RWL 34, 17136. From tool and carbon steel D2, 19312, 14260 and 13180. My favourite steel is N690, I like it for its properties like toughness, corrosion resistance and blade durability. For handles, I prefer natural materials - local and exotic wood and its lingamon; moose / reindeer / deer - horns and bones. Im not against other materials like micarta, juma, G10 and carbon. However, natural materials have inimitable magic.
